The Famous Barrel is a long established public house set by the riverside in Penryn. It's unique feature is the entrance door made from a section of a brewers barrel. It has plenty of charm inside and very popular with the local community. Our garden area to the rear is ideal for enjoying the sun over a drink with friends. We have WI-FI available and offer traditional pub games such as pool.
Food and Drink
Whilst we do not offer food we have a large selections of drinks including Cornish Real Ales.
The Famous Barrel is a member of Cask Marque which helps to guarantee a great pint of Cask Ale.

About the Area
Penryn is a convenient centre from which to visit much of west and mid-cornwall and it is largely overlooked by the tourist industry, unlike many other towns and village in the area.
The beautiful Helford River is nearby, and the towns of Falmouth, Helston and Truro are very close. The area also offers a wide variety of self-accommodation. There are lovely sandy beaches with a short distance and many walks through woodland and river banks.
